Cheap rural hall that runs until 2 a.m. You arrange your own Special Occasion Licence. No confetti ($30/hr cleanup charge), and you clean the kitchen yourself.

The music
Music and bar wrap by 2 a.m. Events must end by 2 a.m., so the bar and music shut down in time for guests to leave.
The room
Up to 180 guests. Main Hall holds about 180; Banquet Room about 80.

6 km from downtown Port Alberni — a short cab ride.
The money
$400 hall — Main Hall is $400 a day or $40 an hour; Banquet Room is $200 a day. Sound system is $25 per event, and there's a separate damage deposit. Rates change by season, so confirm with the venue.
