Kildara Farms
Venue onlyBYOB, and a long way from town.
Barns, acreages and private estates where you bring in everything — caterer, rentals, bar and coordinator. Lower fees, more planning; the numbers below show what’s actually included.
BYOB, and a long way from town.
Food, beverage, catering and a planner are not included.
Rustic lakeview farm with a bench-seated ceremony site. The fee covers set-up, owner clean-up, chairs, lighting and sound, parking and a bridal suite.
13-acre organic farm with tents, kitchen and bar area included, so it suits DIY couples with a caterer. Guests use an outhouse and port-a-potties, and you arrange your own liquor permit and insurance.
10 forested acres with a spring-fed pond and orchard, rented as a whole property with two suites included. DIY-friendly, but the noise bylaw and 11 p.m. cutoff are strict and prime dates go fast.
All-inclusive packages with an in-house planner, outdoor bar with bartender, PA and venue clean-up. Adults only (16+), no pets, and no kitchen, so caterers use a prep area.
Exclusive-use 6,000 sq ft log lodge on five acres for weddings of up to 50, with a four-night stay and overnight rooms for 25. Bring your own caterer or self-cater. Not the place for big or all-night parties.
Orchard farm where every package includes a 40 x 60 tent, tables, benches, portable toilets and a generator. Three tiers: the $5,000 dinner package ends at 8 p.m., and only the $8,000 weekend package gets you dancing until 11.
A 10-acre gated garden estate with waterfalls, ponds and two gazebos, plus a medi spa on site with a get-ready room. In the base tier you handle your own set-up and clean-up.
Converted horse barn plus a B&B cottage package. Catering, bar, setup, cleanup and event insurance are not included; two kitchens support outside caterers.
A 69-acre organic farm with a large pole barn, two moveable rustic bars and exclusive use of the property. Packages include a venue host, parking and bathroom attendants; ceremony spots include fields and a grove.
All-in package rather than a venue rental, and only about five weddings a year. The headline $26,500 excludes the $6,000 floral minimum.
400-acre farm under Mt. Tzouhalem with an outdoor kitchen, tents and a garden or forest ceremony site for a flat $5,500 weekend. You supply the caterer and everything else; ceremony day building access is 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Riverside cabin resort that lists weddings; the wedding lodge is comfortable for about 10 people, so this suits a small gathering.
Working heritage farm inside a provincial park that books a professional planner (Folklore or your own) for every wedding. Lodging is limited to the 8 who sleep in the heritage houses.
Private 10-acre wooded Renaissance-style villa estate with its own catering and lodging for about 30. Confirm fees and curfew with the venue.
Waterfront 12-acre B&B and hobby farm on Baynes Sound, flexible on food and drink (your caterer, potluck or BBQ). Indoor space tops out at 50, so larger weddings are outdoors.
Priced as a weekend package rather than an hourly rental: exclusive use, day-before setup, a coordinator and campground for guests. You can bring your own alcohol with no corkage.
Family-run 65-acre hazelnut farm with a covered pavilion that seats just over 100; larger parties need rented shelter, tables and chairs. Pricing isn't published, so ask the venue.
Waterfront heritage farm (est. 1861) with a new cathedral barn, oceanside and orchard ceremony spots, and a commercial kitchen. Wedding packages aren't public; bartenders are $38/hour and liquor sales need Special Event Insurance.
Ocean-view farm hosting about five weddings a year, with one of the earliest curfews on the island. No tent, a composting toilet for small groups (bathroom trailer for large), room for 15 cars, and a planner is mandatory.
155-acre farm with a 2,400 sq ft event barn, exclusive use for three days. You must hire a coordinator, a DJ and your own caterer, and apply for your own liquor licence. Venue staff bartend 2–11:30 p.m.
A 16-acre riverside property with a timber-frame barn reception hall for up to 140. Confirm that weddings are offered before planning, as the lodge advertises whole-lodge rentals.
106-acre off-grid regenerative farm on the west side of Shawnigan Lake taking a few weddings a year. No catering or décor supplied.
Working heritage farm that takes a limited number of weddings a year. Pricing is by quote; caterers come from the farm's list and couples are encouraged to use farm products.
Unheated barn loft up two flights of stairs, with a covered ground-level space below and a separate Field by the Pond.
Private forested acreage with an open-air ceremony site and a tent reception for up to 120. Bring your own caterer, food truck or DIY; the weekend package includes a two-night stay in both cabins. Ask the owners for pricing.
80-acre farm with a concrete-floored 8,000 sq ft barn that opens on all sides, so a rainy day doesn't move the party. Pricing, curfew and rules are in a venue rental agreement, so ask for it early.
Small custom weddings on a working farm: a 3–5 course truffle-infused family-style dinner prepared on site, with ceremony and reception on the same property. Confirm price and curfew.
Off-grid farm venue outside Port Alberni with ceremony, banquet and dance-floor areas plus a bar station, and room for caterers and food trucks. Choose a Thursday–Sunday wedding weekend or a banquet reception; pricing comes on request.
Waterfront property with a private pebble beach for ceremonies and a beach house for the wedding party. Confirm capacity with the venue.
Farm brewery that rents the grounds exclusively for private events, with a pond and covered tent. Buffet menus are posted, but the rental fee, capacity and curfew are not.
Working farm, gallery and B&B that hosts weddings selectively; the family lives on the acreage, so every request is vetted. Ask about pricing, capacity and curfew.
47-acre organic farm with an old-growth fir grove for wedding ceremonies, a patio over the vineyard and an intimate dining room; the chef's team caters. Bring your own wine and spirits, with no corkage on dining events.
